Are You having Problems Breathing?
Are you an optimal breather? Good breathing is both a skill to be learned and a natural body function at the same time.
With each breath that you take in, your whole spine springs into action and lengthens. And every time you inhale your main torso widens too.
Every time you exhale it contracts. This results in an ever moving, subtle and internal motion or massageof the entire body.
This is in addition to oxygen being regularly pumped to all of your tissues.
Poor breathing patterns canhave a serious effect on your physical health, your mental health and your emotional well being.
And good breathing patterns help to support good health.
Here are a few other things to consider:
- Do you breathe from the diaphragm i.e from the belly, or ribs i.e from the chest.
- How often do you find yourself holding your breath.
- How much can you count up to as you exhale
- Is there much of a pause between breaths. How long is the pause.
- How long can you comfortably hold your breath for at the end of each exhale
- Do you breath through your nose or through your mouth
- Is your breathing easy and effortless. Is it full, shallow or laboured, fast or slow
